About me

Senior Physiotherapist - Paediatrics

My name is Chanelle Horner and I am a mum to 3 and a Senior Physiotherapist with a special interest in Paediatrics.

  • Bachelor of Exercise Science (Griffith University) 1999
  • Masters of Physiotherapy (Griffith University) 2002
  • Member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and Paediatric Special Interest Group

I have worked within Queensland Health and Children's Health Queensland for over 15 years in Child Development. My role within Children's Health Queensland involves working within a multidisciplinary/transdisciplinary team which includes Paediatricians, Occupational therapists, Speech Pathologists, Social Workers, Psychologists, Dietitian.

The role has helped me develop my diagnostic skills to support the medical professionals in understanding a child's holistic developmental presentation along with an understanding of whether a child may or may not meet a diagnostic category.

Along with my physiotherapy understanding I can help a family understand their child's strengths and difficulties and support them in accessing other supports that may be required including NDIS, other Allied health professionals and when to link with other medical professionals or speciality services.

With thanks,

Young Ones Physiotherapy.
